Our humanitarian sponsorship actions illustrate the entire range of Core values. They collectively provide a map of the heart of a rather unusual enterprise. One that attempts to bind its business imperatives to an awareness of its social responsibility, particularly towards the worlds most vulnerable populations.
In addition to financial sponsorship, we also share its technical and human skills with its partners at the interface of three key areas close to its business activities: health, solidarity and children.
The programs under way around the world cover prevention, education, health and access to care, support for the disabled, and the fight against mistreatment, poverty and exclusion. These actions may target humanitarian emergencies situations, but above all they form part of a long term agenda, aimed at providing sustainable support to the world's most vulnerable populations.
The success of all these actions depends on the complementary work of our partners (NGOs and others) who unite their skills to form a powerful lever for creativity and innovation in the populations concerned. It is also assured by the involvement of Group employees around the world, who contribute skills, carry out voluntary work, or make financial donations with are matched by the company.
Children are also a strategic focus for our humanitarian sponsorship. Children who are ill, disabled, mistreated, refugee or on the street are particularly at risk in today's world. Yet they represent the great expectations and the hope for the future of their countries.
Our success in these actions is largely driven by the quality of our partnerships. These help us become more creative and enable to deliver appropriate responses to the social issues we address, beyond purely financial support.
We believe that humanitarian sponsorship can play a pivotal role in helping the neediest populations move forward to sustainable development.
